Mr. Chowdhury was the Executive Director of BRAC from 2000 to 2006. Prior to that, he spent more than three decades in the civil service of Bangladesh. He served as a Secretary to the government from 1994 to 2000 holding charge of various ministries. He also served as an Adviser to the Care Taker Government of Bangladesh in 2001 and was in charge of five Ministries.

Mr. Rab was a Staff Design Engineer and a Manager for Intel’s Pentium and Itanium processors in Silicon Valley, USA. During his 15 years at Intel, he also managed Centrino WiFi and Intel Atom platform communications subsystem development. He managed a team in Bangalore, India for Intel’s multi-core server processor design. He earned his B.Sc Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in ’83 and MS in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Connecticut, USA in ‘92. He earlier managed the technical support division for NCR Corporation’s Bangladesh branch for five years.

Maj. Gen. (retd) Syeed Ahmed BP served in Bangladesh Army for over thirty three years in various capacities. He was Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait and later High Commissioner to Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda during the closing years of his government career. He joined BRAC Net in 2007.

Currently, Mr. Mahfuz is the Assistant General Manager, bracNet. Mr. Mahfuz is in charge of e-hut and new business development. Mr. Hasan Mahfuz Chowdhury has over twelve years of hands-on experience in technical sales of satellite communication equipments, wireless and networking products, and fiber optics devices. He has brought with him a proven track record of managing satellite broadband and data connectivity services in Bangladesh. Previously, Mr. Mahfuz has worked at Gazi Communications, one of the leading satellite data connectivity and broadband internet connectivity providers, as Director. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of MOSITA Computers & Engineers Ltd. in Dhaka. During this position, Mr. Mahfuz spearheaded the introduction Wireless, DSL and VSAT products for Bangladesh. He also introduces Intelsat (Satellite Space Provider) for IPLC (International Privet Lease Circuit) and satellite space for ISP’s.
